Workforce Training and Development

Workforce Training and Development

EnViron is dedicated to growing a green energy technical workforce that deploys, installs, repairs, and maintains EV Charging infrastructure, PV Solar systems, and efficient building technologies in residential and commercial buildings across electric utilities, governments and municipalities, real estate development, and businesses.

The challenge—and opportunity—to connect more workers to green energy careers is more urgent given the demand for skilled, trained workers in clean energy, electric vehicle charging stations, solar energy systems, or operating and maintaining energy-efficient and storm-resistant buildings, millions of workers are needed.

Inspire. Expose. Educate.

Our goal is to inspire, expose, educate and drive sustainable actions that lead to the reduction of the impact of climate change, the creation of good paying jobs and a reduction in crime and gun violence.

CREIT creates pathways to careers in the Green Energy Economy

The CREIT creates pathways to high paying jobs in the green energy economy through immersive training that helps participants become qualified and certified technicians in their chosen energy field.

The courses are taught by respected university professors and renowned lecturers with years of practical and theoretical expertise. The Center for Renewable Energy Infrastructure Training provides a skill development educational experience in renewable energy implementation training across electric vehicle charging stations and infrastructure, solar energy PV panel installation, and smart building technology.

Renewable Energy Courses and Qualifications

The Center for Renewable Energy Infrastructure Training provides training and certifications in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Electric Vehicles (EV) Charging Stations and Infrastructure, Solar Energy PV Panel Installation, and Smart Building technology and HVAC. The project will provide training and certification tracks for EV charging stations and solar operations and maintenance (O&M) professionals.

The CREIT’s training courses are taught by leading academics and experts in their field, who have at least 25 years of academic and practical experience to share with students. The training courses are classroom and hands-on training in real life job site settings, with small class sizes and discussion sessions to encourage interaction and networking.

Renewable Energy Jobs

Sustainable growth of the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries can only be achieved by upskilling individuals to the required level for employment and development opportunities in the energy sectors. The CREIT training courses are designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the clean energy industry, The CREIT works with recruitment agencies and other organizations to connect employment opportunities in the energy sector with professionals and experts who have the skills to fill them, visit the Center for Renewable Energy Training jobs page to find out more.

EnViron Renewable Energy and The University of Memphis Workforce Training and Development Partnership

EnViron Renewable Energy has partnered with the University of Memphis to develop a technical workforce that installs, maintains, and repairs EV charging infrastructure, solar energy PV, and smart building technology. The project will provide training and certification tracks for EV charging stations and solar operations and maintenance (O&M) professionals in partnership with the University of Memphis and a breadth of industry stakeholders.

The project will certify operation and maintenance (O&M) technician competency frameworks; establish training program standards; build an expanded O&M training program; and create a pipeline of workers from disadvantaged communities. The result will be to place newly trained workers in jobs and increase equity, safety, and professional quality in the EV charging infrastructure, solar operations, and maintenance, and smart building technology services, and enhance entrepreneurship opportunities in renewable energy technology for participants from disadvantaged communities in Memphis and Shelby County, TN.

In recent years, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and smart building technology have gained wider acceptance by the power community. However, there is a shortage of workers to meet the demands of the clean energy economy. There is also a gap and lack of proper educational programs that covers all these trending and timely areas of study.

To fill in these gaps, EnViron and the University of Memphis has developed the Center for Renewable Energy Infrastructure Training (CREIT), a skill development educational experience in renewable energy implementation across electric vehicle charging stations and infrastructure, solar energy PV panel installation, and smart building technology.

Participants in the workforce training and development program will include college and high school students, the unemployed and underemployed, veterans, women, and those involved in the criminal justice system’s re-entry programs. The educational program provided will be consistent with the requirements of industry standards and the standards of national accrediting entities of the individual industry national certifying body.
